SuperJosh News: Issue No. 8
OK, so we know we’re a little bit late with this week’s edition (last week’s edition) but, to be honest, we have been so busy it’s ridiculous! Honestly, we just ran out of time … and then we had to finish early on Friday to get ready for the Sportsman’s Dinner at The Village Hotel (more on that in a bit).
Anyway, having realised that time is getting a bit tight we have decided to change the date of our SuperJosh News … as of 1st July we will be publishing the news on a Wednesday. Don’t worry though, we will continue to share it through all our social media channels so you won’t miss out.
Now, if you’re sitting comfortably and have a cuppa, we will begin!
Big Thanks to our Thumbraisers
So, on Friday we headed off to The Village Hotel for their Sportsman’s Dinner featuring none other than the legend that is Big Ron Atkinson. It was a great night and lots of money was raised for the charity. Thank you to everyone who came along, bought badges, raffle tickets and took part in the auction. Also, thanks to all those who donated raffle prizes and auction prizes.
Final figures aren’t in yet but we raised upwards of £7,000 which is just amazing!
On Saturday we were at The Armed Forces Day in Warrington and had a fantastic time. Thanks to everyone who was involved in organising it, and those who came along to support it. Great fun was had by all!
Cycling for Charity
Yesterday our team of six fundraisers took part in the Great Manchester Cycle. Simon Warrington (one of our trustees) opted to do the 52 mile version of the course, on a tandem with his wife Wendy, Let’s hope they are still talking to each other today 😉
Thank you to everyone who took part, and if you are interested in sending a donation, you can do so here.
Last weekend Team SuperJosh were delighted to lead out the Carnival in Prestwich. It was a fantastic day, with great crowds and we were accompanied by the Red Angel cheerleaders.
Here to Help
Remember last week we told you about Stewart Sheridan and his new van? Well we are delighted to say it has arrived and we have photos!
Unfortunately Stewart is currently in hospital with an infection, but we are sure he will be able to take advantage of this new addition to the family very soon!
Remember the limited edition SuperJosh seeds we were selling a couple of months ago? Well here’s a picture of our good friends Alexis & Holly flowers showing off.
Why not take your own photo and share them on Twitter using the #SJseeds? Let’s make Twitter a burst of colour for Josh!
Time Saving Heroes want to get you Social!
Many of you will no doubt know Lu from Time Saving Heroes (in fact, if you’ve ever phoned me and got an Essex girl, that would have been her!). Lu is my Virtual PA but her business also specialises in social media and content writing.
She has made it her mission to get the businesses of Bury (and further afield) social – and properly engaging in social media. So, throughout the whole of July she will be making a donation of £10 for every business that signs up to one month of social media management (packages start at just £45). So, if you’ve been thinking about getting more involved with Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn (to name but three) why not give her a call and help raise money for our charity?
Call Lu on 0161 883 2024, email email@example.com or simply use the #SJSocial to find out more!
OK, so it’s a while till September, but we are really excited about this one … American Basketball team USA Select are coming over for our Lancashire Spinners Game on 8th September. It’s one to pop in the diary (though, we will remind you closer to the time, so don’t worry!).
So, that’s it for this week but remember we will be here again on Wednesday with more news so stay tuned!!!
