When Mark walked 55 miles for SuperJosh
Remember when Mark Turnbull walked 55 miles in 24 hours? Well, if not, between 4th and 5th March Mark, one of our biggest supporters, took up the challenge of The Bogle Stroll, a mammoth midnight walk to raise funds for both Josh’s Charity and the Booth Centre in Manchester.
Thanks to the support of friends, family and the wider community Mark was able to raise a total of £1,812 to be split between both charities. As a result of a Gift Aid top up we received just over £1,200 and we can’t thank him enough.
We are delighted to say that thanks to his support we have been able to help two families we are supporting with a hospital expenses grant. These grants are essential for families who find themselves faced with a child in hospital. A two week hospital stay can cost over £200 when you consider the price of meals, travel, parking and potentially accommodation close to the Ward. When you are comforting your poorly child, the last thing you need to be worrying about is finances and we are delighted to be able to help in this way thanks to Mark.
We have also provided a portable HD desktop magnifier to a young girl in Rochdale child we are supporting via the charity. As a result of a brain tumour her eyesight has been effected and this magnifier allows people with visual impairments to adjust magnification and contrast at the press of a button, so they can read anything from street signs to menus, price tags and of course books! This is going to make a huge difference to this child’s life, so thank you again for your help and support.
