SuperJosh News: Issue No.9
Hi guys. So, how are you coping with all this heat? Hope you’re not finding it too much – and instead are making the most of the opportunity to eat ice cream for breakfast. OK, maybe that’s just me!
With a change of date for our SJNews release we confess this is a slightly smaller than usual update – but we do still have lots to tell you.
The Rock’s Charity of Choice
No doubt many of you have heard, but for some of you that have been too busy enjoying the sunshine (and we don’t blame you) we have some fantastic news! This week we found out that The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity was voted (by the public) to be The Rock’s Charity of choice for the next 12 months.
You can read more about it here at The Bury Times online. Lu took the confirmation call on Dawn’s behalf and actually squeeled down the phone (apologies to those in neighbouring offices!) and when she told Dawn the good news, she really did well up.
This means so much to everyone involved and we know that Josh would be THRILLED to have won such an honour. Huge well done to the other shortlisted charities – we really were up against it.
On Tuesday we said a final farewell to a very brave superhero 19 year old Max Bentley at a beautiful service at Dukinfield Crem. Max had a spinal tumour, which spread into brain tumours causing his final deterioration.
Did you know…?
So, why do we use a big thumbs up as part of our logo? Why do we call our fundraisers Thumbraisers? Well, it’s simple and it’s all to do with our Josh. Here’s a picture of the big man himself showing of his self-taught signs.
A massive shoutout to all our Skydivers jumping in the Lakes on Sunday!!
Pics to come next week, everything crossed for a calm and sunny day
We are really excited to be going to Tottingtons Big Day Out this Sunday. With lots on offer there will be something for everyone so we hope to see you there!
Well, that’s us for today. We’re off to eat more ice cream.
See you next Wednesday!
