SuperJosh News No.12
Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks SuperJosh News! Hope you’re having a good week so far, despite the best efforts of the rain to make us all miserable.
We have lots to tell you about this week so sit back with that cuppa, and take a few minutes to catch up with what’s been happening in SuperJosh world.
Here to Help
We are really excited to be delivering a SuperJosh Teenage Entertainment Package to Oldham Hospital Children’s Ward on Friday. This is thanks to another generous donation from Simply Health UK – we can’t wait to see all those smiling faces.
We promise to put up some photos in the next issue.
Last Friday, 17th July we held our first Ladies Lunch down at The Village. I know everyone will agree that it was an amazing afternoon with great company, amazing entertainment from the super talented Fellone Vocal Duo and amazing food.
As well as having a brilliant afternoon we raised a staggering £3,112 which really is just amazing. The monies raised will pay for the living expenses and flights to America for the family of one of our children who is travelling there for Proton Therapy. This is their final option for his brain tumour treatment and we are delighted to be able to help.
Dawn said: “Being able to provide direct help exactly when families need it most just wouldn’t be possible without amazing support like this…..THANK YOU!”
Thank you and Thumbs-up
We owe another massive thank you to our patron Sacha Lord Marchionne, the Parklife and Warehouse Project team, everyone who donated at Parklife this year & all our Thumbraisers.
With your help, support and donations we have raised over £20,000.
We’re still buzzing after hearing the news of the final tally so thank you so so much!!!
We can just imagine how happy Josh will be up there, knowing that this will help us help many more families in his legacy.
This weekend there are plenty of opportunities for you to bump in to Dawn and some of the thumbraisers.
Starting on Friday (24th July) the team at RRG Nissan Bury in Bolton Street are hosting an entire three-day weekend of events in aid of #SuperJosh. Between Friday and Sunday the showroom will be buzzing with visitors who can enjoy a barbecue, face painting, a raffle with a host of prizes, and a charity car wash. RRG Nissan Bury will also be contributing £50 for every car sold over the three days.
We are proud to have close links with this local dealership and are so grateful for all that they do to support us and our charity. Pictured below is Dawn with Dealer Principal Mike Prince when she went to pick up the Josh Mobile (aka Nissan Qashqai).
On Saturday we will be hanging out with The Rock as part of their Summer Birthday celebrations. Come on down between 12 & 3pm and you could win £500!
Saturday also sees a Basketball Fun Day at Phillips Park High School. This will run from 10am – 3pm and is family fun for everyone. We are really excited about seeing our Lancashire Spinners family again and hope to see as many of you down there as possible too.
This weekend also sees Festwich 2015 taking place featuring a huge number of Europe’s greatest tribute bands including Fell Out Boy and Kings ov Leon. We had so much fun last year and we can’t wait to see everyone again. We know it’s going to be a great event – so come on down and say hi to Team #SuperJosh (if you can tear yourself away from all the fun!).
Phew! That is a lot of things to cram in to one weekend!
As if we haven’t just told you about enough things going on, we do have a few other things in the pipeline too.
In August our charity will be two years old (where has the time gone?!) so we will be having as much fun as we possibly can.
On 14th August we are hosting a Bond Themed night at The Village. Tickets are now on sale so grab yours before they go.
On 16th August we will also be having a family fun Birthday party at The Village with disco, entertainment and the obligatory party BBQ – everyones welcome!
Are you the #SuperJosh Driver of the Year?
Throughout August and September Graham Evans from GDT will be hosting the first Drive4Josh competition. He is challenging you to drive a secret but “very testing” driving route to the best of your ability to ultimately become Josh’s Inaugural Driving Champion.
Our top 3 winners will be announced at the “Drive4Josh” Awards night on Friday 26th September at The Village Hotel from 7:30pm.
It costs £50 to enter (but you can secure your place here with just £25 upfront – the rest to be paid on the day of your “test”). Dawn is taking her test today – so good luck (we’ll make sure to update you next week with how she gets on).
Places are strictly limited, and they are being snapped up fast – so make sure you get yours today. Or at least very, very soon to avoid disappointment.
That’s all folks…
Well, that’s us for another week. Hope you enjoyed this issue and we will see you again on Wednesday.
