SuperJosh News: Issue No. 1
Hi and welcome to the first edition of the SuperJosh News!
We have so much going on at the moment and we know just how hard it is for people to keep up so we thought we’d create a dedicated space for all our fans, followers and supporters to get all caught up on what we’ve been up to.
So, grab a cuppa and a comfy chair, sit back, relax and read all about our news.
Thumbraisers
As you all know we would be nothing without the constant support of our amazing Thumbraisers. This week we want to say a couple of extra special thank you’s.
Firstly, a huge thanks to James Harper and Paul Fallon (pictured below) from Tesco’s in Bury for running the Manchester marathon on behalf of our charity. The money they raised through donations in store and via friends and family totalled a whopping £1,001.94! Dawn was blown away when she went to collect their donation (mainly because they had told her they had raised £500 – how very tricksy!).
Secondly, a massive thumbs up to Ian Stewart (pictured below) one of our most passionate supporters for organising his first ever fundraiser. After what can only be described as an amazing night held at The Woodside Inn on Tuesday 5th May his efforts secured £840 for the charity. Thanks to everyone who came and supported the event, with special mentions to landlord Stuart Mason and Josh Griffin.
Upcoming events
We know most of you have had one eye on the election over the last few days but surely you can’t have missed the fact that we are on official Woodstock Bury countdown. In just over 2 weeks (24th May) the first ever Woodstock Bury event will take place at Woodback Cricket Club.
Follow the above link to the website for more information on the day itself and don’t forget to follow on Twitter @woodstockbury for up to date news on bands and competition news.
We also mustn’t forget to mention that the 10th annual Forever Bury Beer Festival takes place Thursday 14th May – Saturday 16th May at the Bury FC Social Club, Gigg Lane (information below). Heartfelt thanks go out to the organisers for raising funds for Josh’s charity – we are so grateful thank you!
Also, our team will be there every day selling SuperJosh’s Outstanding Beer. If you want to get your hands on a few bottles (or cases) come on down and say hello!
Other News
In other news the Bury Broncos have launched their new top complete with our logo. Let us know what you think – we certainly love it!
Fact of the Week
Did you know that 1 in 423 people need changing facilities in the UK? That means there’s around 40,000 people with profound and multiple disabilities who do not have access to public toilet facilities that meet their specific needs.
You can find out more about the work Changing Places are doing to change lives at Woodstock Bury where we are proud to have one of the mobile changing places units on site ALL DAY!
That’s all folks …
Well, that’s all for this week’s edition but we will be back next Friday with more news and facts. Don’t forget to get in touch if you are holding an event or doing anything that you think our SuperJosh family should know about!
