SuperJosh Ladies Lunch
On Friday, 7th July, we hosted our second annual Ladies Lunch at The Village Hotel. It was a fantastic afternoon and I think it’s safe to say all our lovely ladies had a fantastic time. However, it wasn’t just about getting together and having a laugh, it was about raising money for one of our local amazing families.
We have been supporting an 11 year old boy, and his family, after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Unfortunately the brain tumour has now left him with a visual impairment, and this means that various adaptations need to be made to his home and environment to ensure his safety. One of the things the family have asked us to help with is the production of a “safe garden”, so that he can continue to enjoy the outside space at the family home, without fear of tripping over and hurting himself.
Gordon and the team at Bespoke Landscapes are on hand to complete the project, but we need £2,500 to help fund it. Thanks to the efforts on the day we were able to secure a total of £1,468 – so we are well on our way!
This amount is only possible thanks to everyone who was involved, so I need to say a few thanks you’s.
Firstly, thank you to Gill and the team at The Village who hosted the event and provided the amazing food. I’m still having flashbacks of that chocolate desert! Thanks also to Danny Lowry who donated our entertainment in the form of Robbie Williams and Olly Murrs tributes. They were really excellent and helped to get the party started. Thanks also to Aaron who entertained the ladies before lunch with his magic tricks.
We also had a fantastic surprise visit by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service who popped in to wish one of our thumbraisers, Caroline, a very happy Birthday. It was lovely of you to dedicate your spare time to surprising her, you really made her day. It’s safe to say Caroline loves Firemen as much as Josh did, although we admit, for different reasons!
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the auction and raffle, as well as contributing to the goody bags. Also, thanks to the ladies who gave up their afternoon, and their pennies, to make the event such a success.
We really couldn’t do any of it without you! Thank you from Team #SuperJosh.
