SuperJosh Calls for Xmas Party Heroes
This month we are calling for businesses who have had to cancel their usual works Xmas Party due to COVID, to donate the money they would have spent to those in desperate need this Xmas period.
We help children who have or have-had a brain tumour, we support their families with advice, emotional guidance and financial solutions, with special focus on those who also have post-surgery disabilities. All this is done in Joshua Wilson aka SuperJosh’s legacy.
Our Charity and those we support have been hit hard by the COVID pandemic, our usual calendar of events has all had to be cancelled leaving our funds critically low.
The work we do supports people on a daily basis, helping make their lives a little brighter during very difficult and emotional times as well as supporting them through some of the worst traumas they are likely to experience due to the illness or death of their child.
Dawn Fidler, Chief Executive of The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity and mum to Joshua said:
“This year has been the hardest we’ve ever had to face as a Charity. Our fundraising was cut massively and our referrals for those in need went through the roof. We want to support as many children and families as possible – but our waiting lists are starting to grow.
As part of our ongoing work, we support families through terrible loss. In the past few months, we have supported families through the heart-breaking loss of four children, and sadly there have been three parental suicides. Our services are needed now more than ever. We know what a difference our service can make, as lives truly depend on us.
We are calling for all businesses that have had to cancel their usual Xmas Party to consider donating what they would have spent on this to the SuperJosh Charity – to allow us to help more people this Christmas.”
Businesses will get a special ‘shout out’ on our popular social media channels and the knowledge that they have supported local families in desperate need this Christmas.
