Hi everyone and welcome to another issue of the SuperJosh News! We have lots to tell you about again this week so gab a cuppa and a slice of cake 🙂
Big Thank You
On Friday we were delighted and very proud to present Royal Oldham Hospital Children’s Ward with a SuperJosh Children’s Entertainment Package.
If you’re not entirely sure what these packages are, well they are a mix of TVs, electronic games, board games as well as arts and craft materials. They fill a gap that the NHS simply can’t fund, but are an important part of a child and families stay during a stressful time in hospital.
Dawn and Josh identified the need for these packages during their many hospital stays over the years and were determined to do all they could through the charity to make a difference where they could.

Louise Gallagher, Play Specialist at Royal Oldham spoke to Dawn to say “Thank you so much for donating all the amazing toys/electrical items to our children’s unit. The children are getting great pleasure from playing with them, thus making a stressful time more enjoyable, greatly appreciated by all children and staff.”
4 Events in 1 Day!
If you remember in the last issue we told you all about the events we had planned for the weekend. Well that weekend has been and gone and we can now officially say that Team SuperJosh smashed 4 events across Bury in one day.
Starting at Phillips Park High School we had fun with everyone at the Sports for all Community Day with our friends the Lancashire Spinners.
Thank you to everyone who came to say hello and helped us raise £160!
We the spent two days at Festwich raising awareness about Josh’s Charity in both the glorious sunshine and the torrential rain. We have some exciting news to come about this event next year so watch this space and all will be revealed.
Again, a big thanks to everyone who came to say hello and helped us raise almost £500.
It was great to join our friends Tower FM again at The Rock as part of their summer 5th birthday celebrations – you can catch us there for the next 3 weeks too and have a chance to win £500 to spend at the Rock Shopping Centre!
We were delighted to welcome Tyler and his family as well who came down to help out on the day.
Finally a big thank you to Mike Prince and his team at RRG NISSAN Bury who held a SuperJosh fun weekend including BBQ,face painting and of course cake. They made a £50 donation for each car sold over the weekend – watch this space for the total raised!
Last week Dawn completed her Top Secret Drive4Josh with Graham Evans from GDT. Now, because it is top secret we can’t really tell you anything other than she (and Graham) survived. In fact, apparently it wasn’t anywhere near as traumatic as everyone thought it was going to be.
Places are pretty much filled now – but if you are still interested in taking part get in touch as we can hold some “reserve” places for you so you don’t miss out.
“Tests” will be taken throughout August and September with a celebration and awards night taking place on 24th September at The Village.
Hey shorty, it’s your Birthday
On Saturday (1st August) Josh’s Charity will be officially celebrating its 2nd Birthday.
Dawn said it’s been an incredible 2 years and she would like to give her thanks to everyone who has offered so much amazing support.
While we have your attention we also want to remind you that Monday 10th August would have been Josh’s 15th Birthday. It is going to be the first Birthday without him but we want to celebrate our hero and his legacy. To help with this we would love people to have a photo of Josh (or his logo) as their social media profile pictures during August. Thank you x
And finally, while we’re talking about August we do have a couple of events on that we would love for you to attend.
On 14th August there is the Celebration of Josh – a dress to impress Casino Night.
And on 16th August we are holding a Birthday party which is family friendly and will of course have lots and lots and lots of CAKE!!!!
We hope you can make one or both of these events because it would be great to see as many of our friends and supporters as possible to celebrate our boy.
That’s all folks…
Well, that’s it for today. Keep telling us what you’re up to and we will keep sharing your news and stories. Until next time.
