Specsavers staff celebrate birthday with help for Joshua

RAISE your “glasses” to kind-hearted Specsavers staff who marked the first birthday at their new premises with a fundraiser for disabled Bury boy Joshua Wilson.
The event, held at the company’s branch at The Haymarket in Bury’s Mill Gate centre, raised £100 for the newly-launched brain tumour charity bearing the name of 13-year-old Joshua, of Walshaw Road.
Money was raised with a raffle and customer donations, and staff welcomed Joshua to the event and also cut a celebratory cake.
Specsavers dispensing assistant, Naomi Turner, who is also a trustee of the charity, said: “We were having a first birthday party and decided that it was the perfect opportunity to incorporate a fun day and raise money and awareness for a local charity and super hero, the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity.”
Mum Dawn Fidler added: “Josh was proud to attend the day and enjoyed selling raffle tickets and to help raise awareness of his charity.”
