IT was a “red” letter day for disabled Bury youngster Joshua Wilson when he helped lead his favourite rugby league team out on to the pitch for the start of a televised match.
The 13-year-old, from Bury, was the Salford Red Devils’ mascot when they played St Helens at their AJ Bell Stadium in a Super League clash last Thursday.
He was accompanied by his mum, Dawn Fidler, and Salford skipper Adrian Morley who is also a patron of the Joshua Wilson brain tumour charity.
A total of £400 was collected on the night for Joshua’s charity by a fundraising team, led by trustee Naomi Turner.
Dawn Fidler said: “It was an amazing night. Josh was so proud to lead his favourite rugby league team out on to the pitch. Thank you to everyone at Salford Reds for ggiving Josh such an incredible experience .”
