Happy Birthday to Us!
On 1st August Josh’s amazing charity turned 4! It’s been the most incredible and amazing year and we can’t thank our Thumbraisers, Patrons, Trustees and everyone enough for their support, time, love, generous sponsorship and donations.
Now we’re officially in our fifth year, we are looking forward to being able to help even more families and raise more awareness of the work we do.
We will be celebrating all month, especially on what would have been Josh’s 17th Birthday on the 10th August when we will announce how much we’ve raised and how many families we’ve helped so far. We will be having a Super Hero day at The Rock on Thursday, where we hope to see as many of you as possible out and celebrating.
Also, watch out for daily updates about our work and achievements so far on social media.
We miss our boy terribly every day, but know he will be so proud of his amazing legacy helping so many others.
The last few days have been really busy, and thanks to some of our amazing supporters we’ve raised even more money.
This weekend James Soden from Square Peg Associates took on the Tough Mudder challenge, an endurance event series in which participants attempt 10–12 mile long obstacle courses that tests mental as well as physical strength.
“Tough Mudder is all about camaraderie, with obstacles designed to encourage group participation. It’s exactly the way SuperJosh are – everyone pulls together to help others. It just seemed perfect.”
A huge thank you for all you’ve put yourself through, and for raising over £200 so far. James has also donated a custom framed Man Utd shirt signed by the 2014 squad, including Sir Alex Ferguson, which we will be auctioning later this month.
The team at DTE also took on an immense challenge this weekend, doing 31 miles of the Pennine Way. It took over 14 and a half hours, which resulted in a few injuries along the way, but they’ve raised over £1,400.
Natalie Noone said: “An amazing but very hard day on Saturday, this walk made last year’s 3 peaks look like a stroll in the park!
The team were fantastic, not everyone made the finish but everyone put their all into it and despite bust knees and blisters everyone managed the first loop which turned out to be over 21miles!”
Our team were also busy with our stall at Festwich, a fantastic event again this year. The weather never puts anyone off, and it’s safe to say everyone had an amazing time. Thanks to everyone who helped out, and to those who made donations and supported us.
This weekend we are at The Village Hotel in Bury with 30 family members we support for a Pirate and Princess themed afternoon. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up, and know many happy and wonderful memories will be made.
We also have another team of brave supporters taking to the skies for another SkyDive and we wish them well. You’ll have an amazing time and we can’t wait to share all your photos next week.
