Could you take on the SuperJosh Blackpool to Bury 36 miles Challenge?
This year we will be once again donning our trainers and walking boots, taking on the epic challenge of walking 36 miles from Blackpool to Bury!
This huge challenge will see us leaving Bury at 6am on Saturday 27th April and then walking back from Blackpool on a route through Preston, Belmont and Bolton before we finally crawl back into Bury.
This will be the third year of doing this amazing challenge which last year raised over £21,750 to support our very special families living with brain tumours & disabilities with financial & emotional help.
This year we will be welcoming ten new walkers from Bury’s Village Hotel, led by the General Manager, Michael Dixon, they join our existing walkers to bring the total to 47 walkers on the day. We will also have 15 support cars in use during the long-long day!
We know from experience that the great sense of achievement within our team and from all of those that took part was overwhelming.
The walk is tough, and there will be lots of blisters, swollen ankles and sore feet at the end – but it achieves so much for Josh’s Charity and our families, plus helps us raise so much awareness.
It’s also tons of fun and some new & strong friendships are made along the way.
Lysha Holmes, one of our wonderful Mums who took part in a walk said:
“I felt such elation as I reached the end and my body didn’t know what had hit it. My highlight was going live on Facebook and raising £300 in the 5 minutes I was live. Thanks to all of my amazing sponsors.”
The day will be tough, and we encourage anyone that wants to take part to ensure they do enough training in order to see them through the many miles that we will be covering.
Once you sign up, there’s lots of support, training walking and team guidance provided.
