Mersey Drive Have Super Hero Day for SuperJosh
Last week was so busy, with lots of different events taking place.
On Friday, a team of our SuperJosh ladies attended the Mayor’s Sparkle Lunch to raise funds for his three chosen charities.
It was an amazing afternoon and I wanted to say a personal thanks to Debi Fellone and her team for arranging such a wonderful event.
Thank you also to Mike Connolly and Ian Hargreaves for their wonderful support for Josh’s Charity over the past 12 months — it’s been amazing having them as our mayor!
I also met up with the student council, and other children at Mersey Drive School in Whitefield, who were hosting a superhero dress up day to raise funds for Josh’s charity. It always means so much to see children raising money for charity, and I was blown away by the presentation they gave during their assembly.
Thank you so much to all the staff and pupils, it was a very special morning.
Everyone had an amazing time, and an amazing £744.44 was raised. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a wonderful success. And congratulations to Charisse on holding your first charity event.
On Sunday, we held a special afternoon with some of the families we help and support with at Paint a Pot in Radcliffe. It’s great to be able to get together and have fun, away from hospital wards and treatment.
Mum Cheryl said: “Every SuperJosh day is a magical memory making day xxx”. It means so much to be able to offer this to our families.
Sadly, sometimes the support we offer is not fun, especially this week as we say goodbye to beautiful Gracie Greenwood, who passed away last week, aged 20 months, as a result of her brain tumour.
Josh’s charity has been supporting her parents, Lauren and Zak, throughout their journey, and continue to do so at this heart-breaking time.
It is an honour helping them prepare for her celebration.
We have another busy weekend ahead, and are already looking forward to the Forever Bury Beer Festival this weekend sponsored by Bakestone, taking place at Gigg Lane today from 11am to Saturday at 11pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
Good luck to carers taking part inn Fusion Fostering Sponsored walk this weekend at Ribby Hall and to everyone part in the Queen Anne White Collar Boxing and family fun day on Saturday. There’s lots planned including an inflatable boxing ring, slides and much more.
Finally, from all of Team SuperJosh, we want to wish Specsavers in Bury a very happy 25th birthday. It celebrated last weekend and held a designer glasses raffle and awareness day for SuperJosh, thank you to everyone who donated & raise £65!
