Local Lloyds Pharmacy Manager raises £200 running for Josh!
Jahn Khan and his team at Lloyds Pharmacy in Bury presenting a cheque for £200 to Josh!
A big Thumbs Up Thankyou to Jahn Khan Manager at Lloyds Pharmacy in the Moorgate Primary Care Centre, Bury who has done a 15 mile sponsored run from Rochdale to Bury, raising £200!!
Jahn said ”We came across Josh’s plight in Granada reports and one my members of staff informed me the following day that an police service in the South of England had raised funds for a sick child in Bury so that the family could have modifications to their property to accomodate his needs and immediately my gut reaction was why did it take paramedics down south to raise money & why have local people not done anything?”
“Surprisingly Josh was a patient at our chemist!”
“So we came out with a plan as a team to do fundraising, I committed to the fun run from Rochdale(my hometown) to Bury and back which equates to 15 miles scheduled for Wednesday 22nd May 2013 with the specific aim to raise money for the ‘Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity’ and we raised £200 from staff, customers and even neighbours who wanted to donate during the holy month of ramadhan which end in the first week of August 2013.
We are a local pharmacy and this is a local cause and I was moved that although national charities have alot of sponsors/support the small local charities are often overlooked”
“Although getting my fitness back took 4 weeks with painful joints as a result i throughly enjoyed it and finished the run in 4 hours(the sort of times i used to hit when i was active and in my youth!) and it is my way of giving back to the community i am part of and i am proud of what we achieved and good luck with the charity for the future”
